Using shortcut keys - elecworks. Tips and Tricks #1

The command you need at your fingertips with your personal shortcut keys! Imagine you need the elecworks command for Symbols but do not want to waste time looking for the icon. Here is how you can do it instantly pressing just one key…

You can assign some keyboard keys to launch instantly an elecworks command without clicking its icon.

To set up these shortcuts, open the "Customize Quick Access Toolbar" and select "More Commands".

Go to the "Keyboard" tab.

In "Category:" select the menu where the command is located.

In "Commands:" select the command.

Go to the "Press new shortcut key" field.

Press the key / keys that should run the command.

The names of keys pressed appear in the "Key assignments:" box.

Click on the "Assign" button.

You can program as many keys as you want.

To exit the interface, click on the "Close" button.

Customers with running subscriptions can already download newest electrical designer release 2010.

It runs with Windows XP PRO, VISTA and SEVEN 32 bit (please check install help file for details on combinations)

ACERI SA successfully deploys ELECTRICAL Designer aerospace extension at Bombardier Learjet 85

Project highlights’

Project started in 2003, by ACERI US and Bombardier Aerospace research centre in Montreal Canada

The challenge: setting up a tool to interface suppliers’ cabling data with wiring, cable loom design and manufacturing

This collaboration between various CAD systems provides a seamless design process that avoids tasks’ repetition across the various project stages elaborating on CAD model to extract wiring data

Provide assistance for Electrical Designer software installation, configuration settings, and tool utilization.

Load and configure Drawing Template that meets latest BA ESSD drawing format requirements.
Load and configure the Component Library with part numbers and attributes as required by BA wiring integration.
A custom installation pre-made in ACERI
Assist in documentation, paperwork and BA specific training material, as required.
Develop a configured Software instance that can be shipped to System Suppliers.
Package the Symbols library for either shipment with software or make available through Documentum.
Prepare Supplier Workshop training material for simplified "How to Training".
Electronic documentation for all items as per Bombardier applicable standards and guidelines.

Aceri Electrical Designer Harness - Module 7

New Aceri Electrical Designer Harness Module

This module seeks to provide users with more specialist tools for the design and maintenance of multi-conductor harnesses. Available with Electrical Designer 2009

The module can be run as an ELECTRICAL Designer module for AutoCAD Electrical or as an enhancement for standard ELECTRICAL Designer, for AutoCAD LT, vanilla AutoCAD, etc

The user will be able to create a new drawing type Harness within their standard electrical projects.

The harness drawing will allow the insertion of connectors that can be connected up with cables.
Cables can be designed within the drawing, allowing the user to define and display all the information related to the internal make up of the cables.

Customers expectations

Earlier this week an Indonesian customer e-mailed us requesting technical support, nothing special so far.
Interesting tough is the fact that he used same e-mail address as last time he wrote to us in 2002; and he was requesting help to re-install and configure an obsolete ELECTRICAL Designer version from 2002.
Finally he had never purchased in past years any support contract or subscription option.
Anyway we helped him (for free) and he was not surprised either.
Nowadays customers’ expectations are high if not stratospheric!
